AMSOIL Synthetic Oil Impresses Kwik Kar Fast Quick Lube Owners

Tom and Kay Garrett are having good luck with AMSOIL products. The Garretts own the Kwik Kar Lube and Wash in Grapevine, Texas, and carry many AMSOIL products.

"The XL Motor Oils are the most cost-effective that we offer, with XFL 5W-30 the largest seller," said Tom Garrett. "For those customers who want the best for their cars, we also offer the AMSOIL Oils Filters."

The Garretts also carry AMSOIL Synthetic Automatic Transmission Fluid.

"Texas heat puts a lot of stress on our customers' cars, and the auto manufacturers are specifying higher quality transmission fluids," said Garrett. "Having the best products available enables us to protect our customers' cars, and is also keeping my business ahead of the pack in a competitive industry," Garrett added.

Recently Garrett simplified the store's gear lube inventory by converting to AMSOIL exclusively.

"We used to have five or six pails of gear lube, plus product in our bulk gear lube tank," said Garrett. He said the old method often created problems for his employees to locate and dispense the correct product.

"Our new method of having the 75W-90 in bulk handles most of our needs, with the 80W-140 on hand for heavy duty applications," Garrett said, "It has simplified our operation and we haven't had any customer complaints about the price of gear lube service."

Garrett said displaying AMSOIL products such as motorcycle oil, filters and two-cycle oil in his customers waiting area has boosted sales as well.

"Many of my customers have motorcycles, jet skis or boats," said Garrett. "While they're waiting for their cars to be serviced they can look at some of the other products they frequently use." Garrett added that the chrome motorcycle oil filters and the 20W-50 Motorcycle Oil attract a lot of attention and frequently end up as added sales on the ticket.

Garrett is becoming more impressed with AMSOIL all the time and is thinking about carrying even more products.

"I just finished a year's use of AMSOIL 0W-30 in my personal car," said Garrett. "We're definately considering offering the 25,000-mile drain oils to our customers."

DOMINATOR Solves Engine Issues

Tom Donahue has switched to AMSOIL DOMINATOR Synthetic 2-Cycle Racing Oil and is having impressive results. Donahue races his 2000 Yamaha GP1200R 1200cc, 155 hp personal watercraft.

"Out of the box, it would go about 63 mph, not fast enough for Limited Class Racing," said Donahue. "As I began modifying the engine to gain horsepower, I began having reliability issues,"

Donahue said he installed a milled head and an after market exhaust system and soon had a non-running motor. Upon disassembling the engine, Donahue could see the problem appeared to be too much heat being generated between the pistons and cylinders.

"I decided to switch to pre-mix fuel and spent probably $500 repairing damage to the cylinders," said Donahue.

No more than 40 hours later, he had the same problem.

"After rebuilding the engine a second time, I switched to AMSOIL, and that was 80 hours ago," said Donahue. "I pulled the head off the engine, and the crosshatching on the cylinders is as visible as the day I had them machined."

"I have 100 percent confidence in your oil to run a two- to four-hour endurance race, and know I will have a running motor when it is over," said Donahue.
